ALANA JIMENEZ

KATY GIRLS' WRESTLING

Jimenez capped her wrestling career with a second consecutive
title at the state tournament on Feb. 28. Over the past two
years, Jimenez is a combined 66-2 with a pair of state
titles in the 165-pound weight class. Jimenez placed at
state all four years, finishing sixth as a freshman
and third as a sophomore. The senior is 120-18
overall in her four-year varsity career.
Jimenez's effort this year helped propel
Katy into second place in the overall
team standings behind only
Amarillo Caprock.

JESSICA GONZALEZ

PASADENA MEMORIAL GIRLS' BASKETBALL

Gonzalez was money from 3-point range throughout her high school career
with the Mavericks, and now she has an award to prove it. The senior won
the Clutch City Shootout, a 3-point shooting contest for high schoolers held
during halftime of Rockets' games. At halftime of the Rockets' loss to the
Lakers on March 11, Gonzalez drained the money ball on her final rack to
tie Eisenhower's Ueronica Cleveland before winning in sudden death.
Gonzalez ended her career at Memorial as the school's all-time leader in
single-game, season and career 3-point shooting.

MICHELLE CABASSOL

MONTGOMERY GIRLS' DIVING

After making a splash at the U.S. Olympic
Trials last summer and then winning a pair of
silver medals at the FINA Junior World Diving
Championships in the fall, it's no surprise
Cabassol came out on top at the Class 4A state
diving meet on Feb. 27. Cabassol set a Class 4A
record with 443.30 points to win a second consecutive
state crown. The sophomore picked up
another Class 4A Diver of the Year award as
well, and is poised to further rewrite the
state diving record books before she
graduates in two years.
