Blind Luck works for Lady's Secret

Blind Luck, in her final prep for the Grade 1 Lady's Secret Stakes on Saturday, worked a sharp half-mile in 47.60 seconds on Tuesday morning at Hollywood Park under her regular exercise rider, Marco Ramirez. Blind Luck came out just after the mid-morning renovation break. She finished well, and, as is her custom, galloped out for an extended length following the drill. "Super. Super," Ramirez said to Jerry Hollendorfer, her trainer and co-owner, after the work. "She was barely warming up." Blind Luck has not raced since defeating Havre de Grace in the Delaware Handicap two months ago. After briefly considering Blind Luck for the Pacific Classic at Del Mar, she was kept out of that race because Hollendorfer did not like the way she was training there. Hollendorfer again on Tuesday morning reiterated his stand that Blind Luck will not run against males in the Breeders' Cup Classic. "I think me and all of my owners are on the same page," Hollendorfer said. "If she runs in the Ladies' Classic and we win, we'll be perfectly happy with the year we had with Blind Luck." Hollendorfer said Blind Luck will remain in training next year at age 5. Also Tuesday, Hollendorfer worked Palomar Handicap winner City to City a half-mile in 48.60 seconds in preparation for the Grade 1 Yellow Ribbon on turf on Saturday. Mike Smith was aboard for the work. He will replace Garrett Gomez, who is committed to Cozi Rosie.
