Aventura, who missed the Japanese spring classics for fillies because of a leg injury, won her third consecutive race since her return to racing in Sunday's Group 1 Shuka Sho at Kyoto Racecourse, the final leg of the Japanese Triple Crown for fillies.
Aventura won by 1 1/4 lengths over 21-1 shot Kyowa Jeanne. Ridden by Yasunari Iwata, Aventura stalked the pace before taking the lead in the stretch.
Whale Capture, the even-money favorite in the field of 18, finished third. Whale Capture was second in the Japanese 1000 Guineas and third in the Japanese Oaks earlier this year. Marcellina, the winner of the Japanese 1000 Guineas, finished seventh in the Shuka Sho, while Japanese Oaks winner Erin Court finished 10th.
Aventura, by Jungle Pocket, is owned by U. Carrot Farm and trained by Katsuhiko Sumii, who won the Dubai World Cup earlier this year with Victoire Pisa.
