Eight of the 10 contestants in the Debutante Stakes at Churchill Downs June 23 broke their maidens in their last start. The other two are still searching for their first score. All of which should make for a highly contentious running in the six-furlong event that first was contested in 1895. Trainer D. Wayne Lukas, who holds the record with seven Debutante winners, will send out Bluegrass Hall's Neith, who finished fourth at Churchill in her sole start. By Dynaformer , Neith is a half sister to 2010 Hollywood Starlet Stakes runner-up Big Tiz. Richie'slilcowgirl registered the lengthiest victory of the winners, scoring by five lengths at Arlington Park in May. The Cowtown Cat filly, owned by Winchell Thoroughbreds and trained by Steve Asmussen, will have the riding services of C.J. Lanerie. She will break from the outside. Four of the contestants -- Blueeyesintherein, Floral Sky, My Daughter's Song, and Quiet Success -- are coming off scores at Churchill. Dorothy Self and Berry King's Blueeyesintherein won by 3 3/4 lengths in her only start, and Floral Sky, owned by John C. Oxley, tallied by a length in her only outing. Blueeyesintherein is by Magna Graduate, and Floral Sky is by Sky Mesa. Danny Keene's My Daughter's Song will be making her fourth start. The daughter of Songandaprayer won last time out under jockey Shaun Bridgmohan and will be ridden Saturday by John McKee. Bob Auerbach and Marc Winston's Quiet Success, who finished third at Keeneland in her debut, won the next time out. By Successful Appeal, she is trained by Tom Amoss. Paul Schaffer's Dancing Elliebelle, by Pure Prize , was an impressive four-length winner at Canterbury Park first time out. Trained by L.R. Bentley, she gets the riding services of B.J. Hernandez Jr. Truthandknowledge, owned by K. D. Investments and trainer Jackie Christenson, won at River Downs June 3 in her initial outing. By Magna Graduate, she will break from the inside under jockey R.A. Vazquez. Love Me Good, by Jazil, won by three lengths at Presque Isle Downs last time out. Owned by Sheltowee Farm and Blazing Meadow Farm, she will be ridden by Shane Sellers. Rounding out the field is Dolphus Morrison's homebred Shesakitty, a daughter of Tapit.
