Harmonious, a leading 3-year-old turf filly in 2010 for Martin, Pam, and Emily Wygod, has been retired from racing to become a broodmare. Breeding plans are undecided. The 5-year-old Dynaformer mare had not run since finishing ninth in the 2011 Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf. "She had not been training as well as we would have liked," said trainer John Shirreffs. "It was sad that I had to make the decision to stop." At 3 Harmonious won the American Oaks Stakes and the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes and finished second in the Del Mar Oaks. In 2011 she placed in four graded stakes including the Yellow Ribbon Stakes. Bred in Kentucky by Martin and Pam Wygod, Harmonious is out of the Storm Cat mare Jade Tree, a half sister to stakes winner Megantic. Harmonious' second dam, grade II winner Jade Flush, is out of a full sister to champion Landaluce.
