Juddmonte Farms homebred Emollient established a clear lead early and then opened up on her dozen rivals in the stretch to register an easy victory in the $500,000 Central Bank Ashland Stakes Saturday, April 6, at Keeneland.

With Mike Smith in the irons, Emollient broke well from the outside in the field of 13 and quickly seized the lead. Emollient completed the 1 1/16-mile race on the Keeneland Polytrack in 1:43.49.

Tuttipaesi finished second, followed by Kitten's Point in third.

The victory assures Emollient a place in the Kentucky Oaks May 3 at Churchill Downs.

With sunshine and 70-degree weather falling on the first Saturday of the spring meeting, a crowd of 32,564 turned out at the Lexington track.
