Delaware Township, with 119 pounds and Eibar Coa aboard, covered six furlongs in 1:09 2-5 on the fast track to earn $150,000 for New Farm. The win was the third in seven starts this year for Delaware Township, who returned $4.90,$2.80 and $2.10. Hook and Ladder paid $5.30 and $2.70 and Yonaguska was $2.10. Sunray Spirit, the odds-on favorite, came from far back to win the co-featured 79th running of the Grade III, $106,800 Cowdin Stakes for 2-year-olds. The California-based speedster, relaxed after breaking well behind his four rivals, then launched a sustained rally with 119 pounds and Coa to a 2 3/4-length victory worth $60,080.
