GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -- When it was announced that Sweet Catomine drew post 10 for Saturday's $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, trainer Julio Canani touched his head with both index fingers and then pointed to his owner, Marty Wygod.

"I told Marty that we were going to get 10, he said 11," said Canani, smiling. "I don't want to get dirt in her face. I prefer to be on the outside than to be in the 1-hole."

Canani was not as happy to hear that Sweet Catomine was made the 5-2 morning-line favorite in the Juvenile Fillies, which drew a field of 13. Quiet Honor was a late defection from the race after developing an elevated white blood count, her trainer, Paula Capestro, said Wednesday from Southern California.

"Don't mention favorites to me," said Canani, who has won the Breeders' Cup Mile twice, but not with a favorite. "I don't want to be the favorite. I never want to be the favorite. I think [Sense of Style] is going to be the favorite, anyway. One race doesn't make a career."

Sweet Catomine, who won the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante while a maiden, was made the favorite off that win and a four-length victory in the Grade 2 Oak Leaf. Sense of Style fell to 7-2 second choice after finishing fifth in the Grade 2 Alcibiades after a troubled trip. Sense of Style, who had won the Grade 2 Spinaway and Grade 1 Matron before the Alcibiades, will be next to Sweet Catomine in post 9.

"My filly, she's a big filly; I prefer to be there instead of the 1," trainer Patrick Biancone said. "You're not forced to come out. Edgar [Prado] will enjoy the trip very much."

Biancone was impressed with the field for the Juvenile Fillies, which has combined to win 23 of 47 starts including 10 stakes.

"It's a strong field," Biancone said. "It looks like, anyway, what everybody thinks, that the fillies are a better bunch than the colts right now."

Balletto won the Grade 1 Frizette from the rail. She will break from the rail in the Juvenile Fillies, as well. Balletto was made the 5-1 third choice. Jerry Bailey will ride.

There is not a lot of speed lined up for the Juvenile Fillies. Sis City, who tired to third after setting the pace in the Frizette, drew post 7 and will likely be on the front end with Higher World, who won the Mazarine Stakes at Woodbine in gate-to-wire fashion. Higher World will break from post 2.

Sharp Lisa, the runner-up in the Alcibiades, may have suffered the most at the draw, being assigned post 12. Play With Fire, who drew the 13, will most likely be taken back off the pace by Pat Day.

Four jockeys - Rafael Bejarano (Runway Model), Javier Castellano (In the Gold), Carlos Marquez Jr. (Culinary), and Ramon Dominguez (Dance Away Capote) - will be making their Breeders' Cup debuts in this race.
