INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Hall of Fame jockey Julie Krone is expected to return from an injury layoff during the Hollywood Park meeting, which began Wednesday.
Agent Brian Beach said he spoke with Krone last week but was not given a timetable for her return other than it's expected at Hollywood Park. "Her bones have healed; it's just soft tissue," Beach said. "I hope she comes back here sometime in the near future because I know she wants to be ready for Del Mar."
Krone sustained rib, chest, shoulder and back injuries in a spill at Hollywood Park in December. She returned for one day at Santa Anita in February, but complained of soreness in her back and has not ridden since. | |
