Street Cry will miss Derby By Bill Finley Special to ESPN.com Street Cry, the top Kentucky Derby hope of the Godolphin Stable, will miss the first round of the Triple Crown with an injury. The news was reported on Godolphin's official website, which shed little light on the situation.
The loss of Street Cry was the latest blow for Godolphin, which has struggled mightily in its efforts to win the Kentucky Derby. Godolphin has started three horses in the race, none of whom finished better than sixth. The stable may still be represented in the Derby by Express Tour, who defeated Street Cry by a nose in the UAE Derby. However, Street Cry was considered the better of the two. Express Tour has had problems of his own, missing five days of training due to a bruised hoof. |
