Jeff Tedford's firing won't have huge effect on Cal's 2013 recruiting class
The most hotly debated coaching question in the Pac-12 finally has received a definitive answer, as California's Jeff Tedford was asked to walk away from a Golden Bears program he was responsible for transitioning from a 1-10 doormat to a legitimate player in the conference. But it's likely that success -- both on the field and on recruiting trail -- is what led to his ouster. Cal hasn't won 10 games in a season since 2006 and hasn't been on the winning end of a bowl game since 2008.
