Butch Davis: USC great first test for Bama next season (0:46)

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

I'm not so sure the Dodgers trade Andre Ethier. Yes, they have outfield depth but Ethier was productive last year and is a much better bet for 2016 than Carl Crawford while providing a hedge against Joc Pederson and Yasiel Puig. Scott Van Slyke and Trayce Thompson, meanwhile, are more right-handed platoon bats than everyday players. It's a logjam but the solution may be just to eat Crawford's money.
