Don't feel sorry for Nick Foles

Yes, the Rams touted Case Keenum ahead of Foles and then traded up to draft Jared Goff with the top overall pick. But Foles still collected a comfy $6 million bonus this offseason. Player-friendly contracts (Insider)

Mike Trout did WHAT?!

You know, we don't get enough of Trout these days, David Schoenfield writes. Probably because the Angels are losing. But check out his home run, the location of Collin McHugh's pitch and the angle of his bat. Five things we learned Monday

Dodgers comeback on Monday a rarity

The Dodgers trailed the Pirates at the end of the first inning on Monday, 4-0, but came back to win, 5-4. Los Angeles had not won a game in which it trailed by at least four runs at the end of this first inning since Aug. 11, 1999 at Montreal, the Elias Sports Bureau reports.

KD, Clips don't appear to be good fit

Kevin Pelton writes that a signing of Kevin Durant would likely mean the departure of Blake Griffin. Pelton sees a difficult road for the Clippers to then enjoy long-term success. Best pitches for Durant (Insider)

Jeff Fisher played on Buddy Ryan's legendary 1985 Bears defense (and basically served as an assistant after he was hurt). Fisher began his coaching career under Ryan in Philadelphia. Later, Ryan moved from Oilers coordinator to Cardinals head coach in 1994, the same year Fisher landed in Houston as coordinator. Fisher became interim coach later that year when Jack Pardee was fired. I started covering the team in 1996 and remember players talking about it taking a good while to get beyond the offense-defense split Pardee allowed and Ryan really fueled. You don't see that sort of in-house rivalry like that anymore and it wasn't very health. But boy was it entertaining.
