USC athletic director Pat Haden was hospitalized twice over the weekend.
As The Los Angeles Times initially reported on Sunday morning, Haden was absent from Saturday night's "Salute to Troy" event, a meet and greet for football fans.
As of Sunday night, Haden had returned home.
Haden, one of 13 members of the College Football Playoff selection committee, emailed CFP executive director Bill Hancock to say he was O.K.
Hancock said Sunday night the committee has no protocol to replace a member who is unable to serve.
"It could be done with 12 members," Hancock said. "When we created the committee, we said it would be somewhere between 12 and 18 members. We don't really have a policy and decided not to do anything. We're just confident everybody would be able to get here."
