CINCINNATI -- The Los Angeles Dodgers activated right-handed reliever Ronald Belisario from the restricted list Wednesday, making him eligible to pitch in the second game of their series against the Cincinnati Reds.
Belisario is coming off an impressive rookie season in which he had a 2.04 ERA in 70 2/3 innings.
He also was arrested in California for suspicion of driving under the influence. The case was resolved in March when he was fined $1,000 on a reduced charge of reckless driving.
The court case reportedly created visa problems in his native Venezuela. He didn't report to spring training until late March, prompting the Dodgers to put him on the restricted list.
