LOS ANGELES -- Depending on whom you talk to, the Los Angeles Dodgers this year are no laughing matter or a laughingstock.
Maybe that's why a television camera failed to catch the punchline on what the team is calling an usher's joke during Wednesday's loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Video shows a boy catching a foul ball in the stands behind home plate in the top of the sixth inning. But after the high-fives, fist-pumps and smiles, an usher takes the ball and walks away. The camera returns to action on the field.
Dodgers spokesman Josh Rawitch tells the Los Angeles Times it was a joke and the usher walked right back and gave the ball back to the boy and everyone was happy.
