Dodgers' entire radio team returning

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Tuesday that their entire broadcast team will return in 2012. The announcement comes on the heels of news in recent days that Hall of Fame broadcasters Vin Scully and Jaime Jarrin would be back next year.

Rick Monday, who spent the final eight of his 19 seasons as a big league outfielder with the Dodgers, will be part of the team's broadcast crew for the 19th season after taking over following the sudden death of Don Drysdale midway through 1993.

Charley Steiner joined the Dodgers broadcast team in 2005, replacing Ross Porter. Steiner previously had served as part of the New York Yankees' broadcast team. He also spent 14 years at ESPN, primarily as a SportsCenter anchor but also doing play-by-play for the network's Major League Baseball telecasts.

Monday and Steiner call the final six innings on radio for each home game and each road game within the National League, taking over after Scully's TV/radio simulcast of the first three innings. Monday and Steiner call all nine innings of all other road games, which Scully no longer travels to.

Meanwhile, Jarrin will continue to be joined in the Spanish-language booth by longtime play-by-play partner Pepe Yniguez, with Dodgers legend Fernando Valenzuela continuing to provide color commentary for home games and NL West road games.

Eric Collins (play by play) and Steve Lyons (color) will continue to handle Dodgers road telecasts when Scully doesn't travel.
