The Los Angeles Angels have hired Matt Klentak as an assistant general manager, the team announced Wednesday.

Klentak, 31, was the director of baseball operations with the Baltimore Orioles for the last three years. He'll join former major-league catcher Scott Servais as assistants to GM Jerry Dipoto, who has quickly overhauled the Angels' front office since being hired near the end of October.

Dipoto took over for Tony Reagins on Oct. 28.

Before working for the Orioles, Klentak worked in the commissioner's office on the labor relations board, where he provided advice and interpretations on the collective bargaining agreement. He previously was with the Colorado Rockies, where he worked with Dipoto.
