LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Times is reporting that the sale of the Los Angeles Dodgers, which was expected to close on Monday, has been delayed.

The Times, citing anonymous sources, says the hope is that the deal can close on Tuesday.

Dodgers owner Frank McCourt has agreed to sell the team for more than $2 billion to a group that includes former Lakers star Magic Johnson. A federal bankruptcy court judge approved the sale of the financially troubled team in mid-April.

The team's reorganization plan is based on the sale to Guggenheim Baseball Management.

The team did not immediately respond Monday night to an Associated Press email seeking comment on the sale.
