DENVER -- Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp is out of the lineup a day after he collided with the center-field wall, but tests showed no structural damage to his left knee and jaw.

"I just know that my knee ... it's sore right now," Kemp said, according to the Los Angeles Times. "Hopefully, just a day. We'll see how everything goes."

Kemp was not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Colorado Rockies, and he was listed as day to day with a bone bruise around the left knee and intense body soreness overall.

"It could have been way worse, so I'm definitely lucky," Kemp told the Times. "I feel pretty blessed."

Kemp ran into the wall while chasing a fly ball.

"He feels like a truck hit him," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said.

In a separate move, the Dodgers placed left-handed reliever Scott Elbert on the 15-day disabled list with left elbow inflammation. Right-handed reliever Shawn Tolleson, who was optioned Monday, was recalled from Class A Rancho Cucamonga.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
