LOS ANGELES -- There is some doubt as to whether Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw will make his scheduled start in Sunday's series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly confirmed.

Kershaw's last start was delayed two days because of inflammation in his right hip and Mattingly said he's feeling much the same way this week. As of Friday night, however, Mattingly was expecting Kershaw to go on Sunday.

"He's kind of in that same mode we were in last week with his start," Mattingly said. "He was two days away, he wasn't great but next thing you know it's time to pitch and he's ready. That's kind of where we're at right now."

Asked who might start if Kershaw was unable to go, Mattingly said, "Right now Kershaw's going."
