The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated pitcher Chris Capuano from the 15-day disabled list in time to start the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader at Yankee Stadium and optioned reserve outfielder Alex Castellanos to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Capuano allowed three hits in six scoreless innings to pick up the win in the Dodgers' 6-0 victory. He moved to 2-4 with a 4.62 ERA.
It has been an injury-riddled season for Capuano, who worked his way into the Dodgers' rotation after a series of injuries to starting pitchers.
Capuano strained a muscle in his side while pitching at Angel Stadium on May 29. He previously missed time with a left calf strain.
Castellanos spent just eight days in the big leagues, going 2-for-9 with a double.
The Dodgers dropped a 6-4 decision to the Yankees in the first half of the doubleheader.
