Lakers' Steve Blake sidelined

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Blake sat out Sunday's 121-116 loss to the Phoenix Suns because of gastroenteritis, a stomach virus.

The backup point guard is averaging 6.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in 18.2 minutes per game off the bench this season.

Blake's absence could free up playing time for Sasha Vujacic, who had played in only four of the Lakers' nine games this season, averaging 2.5 points in 4.3 minutes per game.
