J.J. Redick (hip) out against Heat
"I pulled him out of shootaround today," Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. "He just didn't look like he could go."
Redick missed 21 games earlier this season with a fractured right hand and partially torn ligament in his wrist, and has battled though hip, back, shoulder and knee injuries recently.
Jamal Crawford started in Redick's place Wednesday with Willie Green seeing extended minutes in a reserve role. Redick, who is officially listed as day-to-day, is averaging a career-best 15.7 points per game, shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from three-point range.
Chris Paul, who had been sidelined since Jan. 3 with a separated right shoulder, inched his way closer to returning on Wednesday. Rivers said Paul would miss Friday's game against the Toronto Raptors but could be back for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
"He did some one-on-ones today at shootaround and looked pretty good so I think he's very close," Rivers said of Paul. "I don't think he'll play Friday but he could play after that. He took contact today in one-on-ones but it's still not a five-on-five."
