Chris Paul suffers sprained thumb
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul suffered a sprained right thumb when he reached for the ball and fouled Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol with 13.2 seconds left in Friday night's game.
"I don't know," Paul said after the Clippers' 102-96 loss. "I got caught reaching."
Paul was staring at his swollen thumb and placing it against his left thumb as he sat in his locker after the game. A Clippers official said he will be re-evaluated Saturday but isn't expected to miss any time.
Paul has played in the last five games for the Clippers after missing 18 straight due to a separated right shoulder.
