EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Los Angeles Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss has been released from the hospital, a team spokesman said Monday. It was announced last week that Buss had been admitted because of blood clots in his legs caused by excessive travel.

"He's doing better, which is evidenced by him being released," said John Black, Lakers vice president of public relations.

Buss, 77, was released Friday and has continued to undergo outpatient therapy to treat the blood clots.

Buss' busy travel schedule included vacation overseas during the NBA lockout and several trips from L.A. to New York City for labor negotiation meetings in the last couple of months.
