The play occurred with just under three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. As Griffin chased a loose ball to the corner near the Clippers' bench, New Jersey's Kris Humphries went to the ground in pursuit and rolled over Griffin's lower left leg.
Griffin immediately grabbed the lower part of his left leg, then rolled on his back. Meanwhile, teammate Mo Williams got in Humphries' face, which resulted in a technical foul on Williams.
Humphries was called for a personal foul on the play. Griffin made one of the two free throws and remained in the game, which the Nets won on a three-pointer by Jordan Farmar with 0.2 seconds remaining.
"I had a rebound and I guess he wanted to dive after it and took my legs out, rolled my ankle and rolled my knee," Griffin was quoted as saying by The Los Angeles Times. "The knee is good, but the ankle might be a little bit swollen, But it won't be anything that holds me back. I'll get some treatment on it tomorrow and be ready to go."
Griffin had a slight limp as he left the locker room, but he said there was not much swelling around the ankle. The Clippers play the Spurs in San Antonio Friday night.
