Clippers sign Ryan Hollins

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Clippers signed free agent center Ryan Hollins, the team announced Monday.

As ESPNLosAngeles.com reported on Thursday, Hollins agreed to a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum.

Hollins averaged 3.4 points and 2.1 rebounds in 39 games played last season for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics. In 17 playoff games with Boston last season, Hollins averaged 1.5 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

The 27-year-old Hollins returns to Los Angeles after playing at UCLA, where he averaged 5.7 points and 4.0 rebounds over his four-year collegiate career. Hollins finished his college career as the fourth all-time leading shot blocker in UCLA history with 101 career blocked shots.

Hollins, a seven-foot center who was drafted by the Charlotte Bobcats in 2006, will back up starting center DeAndre Jordan and will be a part of a revamped Clippers bench that includes Lamar Odom, Jamal Crawford and Grant Hill.
