Los Angeles Lakers forward Jordan Hill was diagnosed with a herniated disk in his back and will be re-evaluated in a week, the team announced today.

Hill, who was examined by back specialist Dr. Robert Watkins Jr., had 10 points, three rebounds, three assists and a block in 20 minutes of action in the Lakers' 110-83 loss to the Golden State Warriors Sunday night in the preseason opener for both teams.

Hill, who signed a two-year deal worth more than $7.1 million this past offseason, is the primary backup to Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard. However, rookie center Robert Sacre started at center Sunday night while Howard continues to recover from a back injury.
