Kamenetzky: Back Pains Pain Lakers
The Lakers' top preseason goal was to avoid injuries but Jordan Hill has joined Dwight Howard as a big man with a bad back, says Andy Kamenetzky. Blog
Hill, who was examined by back specialist Dr. Robert Watkins Jr., had 10 points, three rebounds, three assists and a block in 20 minutes of action in the Lakers' 110-83 loss to the Golden State Warriors Sunday night in the preseason opener for both teams.
Hill, who signed a two-year deal worth more than $7.1 million this past offseason, is the primary backup to Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard. However, rookie center Robert Sacre started at center Sunday night while Howard continues to recover from a back injury.
