Brehaut, who broke his leg Oct. 8 against Washington State, had X-rays taken Wednesday and everything checked out OK. He has been doing some light exercises on the side this week -- mostly riding an exercise bike -- but was doing some light tossing as well.
Brehaut had overtaken Kevin Prince as UCLA's starter and completed 66 of 119 passes for 935 yards and six touchdowns without an interception before his injury. Prince led UCLA to a comeback victory against Washington State after Brehaut went down and also rushed for 163 yards in a victory over California last week.
It's not yet known when Brehaut will be ready to return to game action.
"There is no way of telling," Neuheisel said Wednesday. "I have to wait and see him practice before I will know."
