LOS ANGELES -- UCLA coach Jim L. Mora made the first official addition to his coaching staff Wednesday, adding former Washington cornerbacks coach Demetrice Martin.

Arizona State offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone, SMU offensive line coach Adrian Klemm, and Arizona State receivers coach Steve Broussard are also close to joining the staff, according to several sources, though a school spokesman said those hires are not yet confirmed.

Martin has been at Washington the last three seasons under coach Steve Sarkisian. He has significant ties to Southern California, having served as an assistant coach at Mt. San Antonio College and as a graduate assistant at USC. He also went to Muir High in Pasadena.

It is not yet clear what role Martin will take on Mora's staff.

Mazzone has been Arizona State's offensive coordinator the last two seasons, but was likely to be displaced after the Sun Devils hired Todd Graham. His spread offense ranks No. 11 in the nation in passing this season and was No. 15 in passing last season.

Broussard is a Los Angeles native who played in the NFL and coached at Diamond Ranch High in Pomona before embarking on his college coaching career. He was with Arizona State the last two seasons and coached running backs and special teams at Washington State from 2007-09.

Klemm, a Santa Monica native, was a three-time Super Bowl champion for the New England Patriots. A four-year starter at Hawaii, he is considered among the top up-and-coming recruiters in the nation. He was the non-BCS recruiter of the year in 2010.
