LOS ANGELES -- UCLA linebacker Jordan Zumwalt went through a full practice Thursday and will play Saturday at California, though he will not start, coach Jim Mora said.

The Bruins were not in pads for their practice Thursday, but Zumwalt, recovering from a motor scooter accident that caused a bad gash on his forehead and forced him to miss last week's game, wore his helmet and went through all of the drills as normal. Damien Holmes, who started in Zumwalt's place last week, will again get the start, but Zumwalt is expected to get plenty of playing time.

"He practiced, he did everything, he had his helmet on, he felt good and he's ready to play on Saturday night," Mora said. "We're going to start Damien out there. We'll get Jordan some time, and going forward we'll figure out the best way to play those guys."

Mora said Zumwalt would relieve both Holmes and Anthony Barr, the other outside linebacker, this week. Zumwalt also played some middle linebacker the last two seasons, so he could fill in there as well if needed.
