He discusses the Four Pillars of attracting a healthy relationship in your Life: Self Care, Attracting, Dating, and Committing. Christian helps us to get out of our way to find a healthy relationship! Once we target that reason or reasons, then we can come up with a healthy plan of attack. If you are lacking confidence in meeting people, I will work with you to get you in touch with your personal gifts and change your perspective on the fear and threats of meeting people. If you are recently divorced and are feeling a bit rusty about the dating world, you and I are going to figure out exactly what you are looking for in a partnership and what is the healthiest way to get there. If you are struggling to find a "good guy" or "good girl" we will start with your own thought and physical patterns and see how we might change them to attract a healthy person in your life. Bottom Line: The only person you can take responsibility for in life is YOU. If you are struggling to meet the right person, consistently falling into unhealthy relationships, or are currently in a struggling relationship, mountains can be moved when you begin to alter YOUR OWN perspectives, thought patterns, and behaviors. We are all energetic beings that attract similar type energies on a daily basis. If you are confident in yourself and emitting healthy and positive energy, you would be surprised who "falls" into your life. Once we have that taken care of, then it is time to get you ready for the second pillar of developing a healthy relationship in your life: The Art of ATTRACTING For more information: http://www.letstalkdatingonline.com/

AIR DATE September 25, 2011-Actress,Tiffany Thornton, Voices of Meningitis: Disney star, Tiffany Thornton speaks with LaFern about Voices of Meningitis, how she survived and how you can get vaccinated against this disease. Today, Tiffany Thornton enjoys making people laugh as the star of Disney Channel's So Random!, but when she was a teen she almost died from meningococcal disease, a rare, but serious infection that can cause meningitis. Her doctor said it was a miracle she survived, and Tiffany is now committed to educating families about vaccination. Health officials recommend vaccination for all preteens and teens beginning at age 11, with a booster dose by 18 years of age, yet, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), nearly half of US adolescents remain unprotected. Even more alarming is a recent survey showing the vast majority of preteens and teens engage in activities, like sharing drinking glasses and kissing, despite being aware these activities may increase their risk of getting meningitis. That's why Tiffany is joining health officials, school nurses and families affected by meningitis as part of the Voices of Meningitis campaign - an unbranded educational initiative from the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) in collaboration with sanofi pasteur - to raise awareness of the importance of vaccination. Law Facts By Toni J. Jaramilla, A Professional Law Corporation : When may an employee be entitled to medical leave from work? An employee who is injured or ill may not be limited to sick leave, vacation, or personal leave if he or she needs time off. There are many other types of leave that an employer may be required to provide. For example, if the employee has a newborn or newly adopted child, or the employee or his or her family member has a serious health condition, the employee may be entitled to up to twelve weeks of unpaid leave per year under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). A serious health condition is an illness or injury requiring inpatient medical treatment or continuing outpatient treatment by a health care provider, or a chronic medical condition. Furthermore, many states have enacted their own family and medical leave statutes, some of which require employers to provide additional leave or paid leave. Medical leave may also be an appropriate accommodation of a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA does not specify whether or what type of leave must be given to an employee who is disabled by an illness or injury, but courts have held that an employer may be required to provide leave beyond sick leave or personal leave if such leave would be a reasonable accommodation of a disability, as long as the leave is not unduly burdensome to an employer. A leave of one month might be unduly burdensome to a small employer who cannot hire a temporary worker to replace the disabled employee, but a leave of six months might not be unduly burdensome to a large employer who can hire a temporary replacement or reapportion duties. If the employer has allowed other employees to take long leaves for reasons that are not disability-related, such as sabbaticals for continuing education, a court may find that the employer is required to allow a disabled employee to take a similar leave. In the State of California there are almost 160,000 Non-profit organizations. As of October, 2009, almost 22% of them- 35,354- were at risk of having their nonprofit status revoked. That is a problem that NPCS can repair. The most common reason for running afoul of the IRS is that many nonprofits are started based on passion- a need to make a difference. As much as that is a great reason, it's all the more incentive to run your nonprofit like a business. The more money you have- the more people you can help. We can help make you "Grant-worthy" By following our direction and allowing us to guide you, you can tap into the many grants that go unclaimed. With years of experience and research we find that there is a "flow" to tapping into the Grant wellspring and a process to get there. The first step is: Compliance Accountancy- Grantwriting. AIR DATE May 8, 2011- Robbin Hatten, Olive Crest, National Foster Care Month: Robbin Hatten speaks with LaFern Cusack about being a mother of seven, foster families and Olive Crest. In addition to being a full-time mom, she operates the nonprofit Chosen to be Loved, which distributes Life Booksbooks that "allow special moments and development stages in the life of a child to be captured on paper so that they can be kept forever." Robbin and her husband, David, have been foster parents for over ten years. They have seven children, five of which are adopted out of the foster care system. As children came into their home, Robbin became concerned over the lack of family pictures and/or records that should accompany each one. Not only did this make for a much more difficult transition, these children, who need desperately to be able to look back into their past, came without any memories written down or pictures to see what they looked like. Some states mandate that a life book be kept for each child, but this was obviously not being done. Inspired, Robbin researched and dedicated her time, incorporating her personal experience, to create a simple, yet thorough book to aid foster parents, foster children and social workers. This wonderful tool helps each family make a smooth and more meaningful transition, while holding each child's history. Olive Crest is looking for parents interested in temporary respite care (weekends), short-term shelter care (up to 30 days), foster care (assisting a reunification with biological families), and foster/adoption. For more information on how to become a foster parent, call 800-550-CHILD or visit olivecrest.org. and For more information on Robbin's book: http://chosentobeloved.com

Tracie's two aunts and their maternal grandmother battled the disease and one aunt had passed. When Tracie was diagnosed with in situ breast cancer (cancer that has not spread to surrounding tissue) in 2007 her mother was with her when she went under for surgeries. "How she did it I'm not sure," Tracie said. "Watching my mom, who's the strongest woman I know, go through this was unbelievable. She had to face watching both her daughters face cancer after losing a sister to breast cancer." Following a double mastectomy Tracie underwent breast reconstruction but as the mother of an adult daughter, Tracie's first reaction to her own diagnosis was "Oh, no, not my daughter. If it needs to be me then let it be me, but not my daughter," she said. "I've been a mother since I was 19. I really don't know how to be anything but a mom." Because she is at elevated risk for breast cancer, Tracie's daughter Alyceia, now 28, began having regular mammograms at a younger age than the American Cancer Society's recommended age 40, and does regular breast self-examinations. Having witnessed Tracie's determination and positive attitude the reconstructive surgeon's nurse suggested she volunteer for the American Cancer Society's Reach To Recovery program, a free peer visitation program for women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. After realizing many people didn't have the support system she trained for the program. AIR DATE April 3, 2011- Joe, Strome and Ariel Sweet, Aliah Sweet Fragile Hearts Foundation Former NFL Champ, Joe, Strome and Ariel Sweet talk to LaFern Cusack about the Aliah Sweet Fragile Hearts Foundation, that grants wishes for siblings of children with severe, multiple, life threatening conditions. The focus of a family with a child having very complicated needs is often out of necessity, on the child with those challenges. As a result, the balance and familial interaction can be delicate. Many of these children have complex feelings of extreme love and guilt. Understandably they desire the full attention of their parents, but they appreciate the extraordinary needs of their brother or sister. The Aliah Sweet Fragile Hearts Foundation is a wish organization that focuses exclusively on the "well" sibling. The foundation enriches the lives of siblings by granting their wishes and special requests. The Aliah Sweet Fragile Hearts Foundation was founded in 2002 by Joe, Storme' and Ariel Sweet in memory of Aliah Sweet. Aliah was an infectiously happy child with severe, multiple life threatening disabilities. Aliah was wheelchair bound and he required a respirator. Ariel and Aliah were best friends with a powerful bond. The pure and innocent joy of their relationship was punctuated by Ariel's constant concern for her younger brother's well being. Ariel always put Aliah's needs first. Aliah passed away at age nine in 2001. Ariel A. AIR DATE March 27, 2011- Lindsay Wiggins, West Adams Heritage Association (WAHA) speaks with LaFern Cusack about WAHA which is devoted to preservation of the historic West Adams section of Los Angeles. West Adams is located just south and west of Downtown and contains the city's largest concentration of Victorian and Craftsman homes, five of the city's Historic Preservation Overlay Zones, and a concentration of Los Angeles Historic Cultual Monuments. About WAHA We support preservation of the West Adams community's architectural heritage and beautification activities, and seek to educate Los Angeles' citizens and others about cultural heritage and restoration techniques. February 27, 2011-Michael Fosberg, INCOGNITO: An American Odyssey of Race and Self-Discovery:LaFern Cusack speaks with actor/writer/director/teacher Michael Fosberg about his autobiographical one-man show . The show is the true story of the quest to find my biological father which resulted in the discovery of a new identity. He was raised in a working-class white household by his mother and adoptive stepfather, and upon finding his father he discovered he is African-American. This schism was more pronounced by the fact that members of his black family played a significant role in the African-American community; his great-great grandfather was a member of the 54th colored infantry unit in the Civil War (re: the movie Glory), his great-grandfather was an allstar pitcher in the Negro Leagues, and his grandfather was a scientist and engineer for whom the science and engineering bldg at Norfolk St. University is named after.

Michael Sidney Fosberg - Imagine discovering you are not the person you thought you were. That you have a family, a history, an ethnicity you never knew. How would this discovery impact your life, the lives of those around you; your vision of yourself and society? I have been facing these questions since 1992, when after having spent 32 years growing up in a middle-class white family, I discovered I am black. January 30, 2011- Charisse Bremond Weaver, President and CEO, The Brotherhood Crusade:LaFern speaks with Charisse about the Brotherhood Crusade's principal mission is dedicated to building and sustaining an institution that raises funds and resources from within the community and distributes those funds directly back into the community. Brotherhood Crusade has a history of building alliances with other organizations, corporations and foundations of goodwill that are committed to and understand the tremendous need for helping our community and people grow and prosper. The Brotherhood Crusade has made a major impact on the lives of many by creating and providing more than 50 million dollars in grants for programs and supportive services.

A Message From Charisse Bremond Weaver : Forty-two years ago, a group of like-minded individuals formed the Brotherhood Crusade (originally known as the Black Congress) with little more than an ideology and $15,000.00 in seed money from my late father Walter Bremond, Founder. Today, their mandate to empower and uplift their communityboth economically and socially remains critically integral to those who are looked to be ostensibly beyond help.

As a consequence of your generous support, the seed they planted 42 years ago continues to be irrigated and infused with nutrients and has germinated into a tree of life for thousands of South Los Angeles and surrounding community residents. The pulse of Brotherhood Crusade remains on the needs of the community and the significance of your work through our community partnerships is evidenced by a plethora of highly-effective programs and services that are beneficial to those needs. We are proud to provide high-quality, life-changing youth development; technological education; financial literacy; educational enrichment; socio-behavioral life skills and social development; mentoring; vocational training; violence and gang prevention; mental health; and health education programs and services. These opportunities are well-coordinated, comprehensive in nature, and free to our constituencies. They represent the best promising practices for such services as measured and demonstrated through extensive evaluation and monitoring.

Moreover, our viability is substantiated by the partners that we have attracted. The individuals with whom we share and collaborate with and who have championed our causes and give of their time, resources and energy to assist those that we serve. Indeed, it is this network of support that has effectuated a median 175% improvement in academic performance among severely under-performing youth, identified and brought healthcare assistance to hundreds of individuals who were previously unaware of their illness, and caused thousands of families to significantly improve their quality of life. We are truly humbled by these alliances and proud of the countless achievements made possible as a result. He has since established an impressive club following from riveting performances at The Viper Room, The Mint and the House of Blues, just to name a few, and has worked with such music business luminaries as Dianne Warren, Rick Knowels, Steve Kipner and Andy Goldmark. January 16, 2011- Dr. Aliza Lifshitz, acune a Sus Hijos Adolescentes:Dr. Aliza Lifshitz spoke with LaFern Cusack about the new campaign Vacune a Sus Hijos Adolescentes with Mariano Trujillo, a defender for professional soccer team Chivas USA. Chivas USA joined nationally recognized health expert Dr. Aliza Lifshitz to strongly urge all local Hispanic families to vaccinate adolescent children against serious and potentially life-threatening diseases, such as meningococcal meningitis and whooping cough. Trujillo and Dr. Aliza headlined a special event in Los Angeles as part of the Vacune a Sus Hijos Adolescentes (Get Your Teens Vaccinated) public awareness initiative. They spoke to more than 100 Latino preteens and teens about meningococcal meningitis and pertussis (whooping cough), and the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program that provides eligible children 18 years of age and younger with free or low-cost vaccines for these and other vaccine-preventable diseases. Improving adolescent immunization is currently a critical public health issue in Los Angeles County. Cases of meningococcal meningitis peak in late winter and early spring. In addition, there has been a statewide epidemic of whooping cough for the past six months. The California Department of Public Health recently instituted a new requirement, going into effect this year, that all students entering or advancing into 7th - 12th grades must receive the tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (Tdap) booster shot before starting school to help protect teens from these serious infections. January 9, 2011- Marco Aiello Actor, Artist and Musician:LaFern Cusack speaks with Marco Aiello about arts in education and the business of music. Marco Aiello is the type of artist that can't be defined. Still, whether he is singing commercial jingles like the "Hello Good Buy" Beatles cover for the immensely successful Target campaign, recording, singing and touring with his own original music, portraying drug dealers or serial killers for dramatic television shows such as "Criminal Minds" or portraying hilarious characters like "Festus" for the Nickelodeon hit comedy "Victorious" - you can't help but notice the thread that connects all his work: an authentic presence and voice. He thinks of himself as a student of the arts and strives to be a great artist - like those who came before who practiced being formless and available to be moved by the mysterious creative intelligence that exists within every human being.
