The closer it got to the 3 p.m. start for Wednesday's edition of the "Mason & Ireland Show" on Los Angeles' all-sports KSPN-AM (710), the more Dave Singer kept feeling the ground shift below him. The show's senior executive producer had already cut short his abbreviated noon-hour window for lunch, uncertain how breaking news that morning was going to mesh into an already truncated show - the result of the station's Lakers game coverage from Dallas with a 5:30 p.m. tipoff, preceded by two hours of pre-game banter.
