Outside of the major championships, the Northern Trust Open is the fourth-oldest event on TOUR, trailing only the BMW Championship, the RBC Canadian Open and the Valero Texas Open. In 1926, the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce put up a $10,000 purse for the first LA Open - the richest prize in professional golf. Northern Trust has a corporate history dating back to 1889.

Format:
Four-day, 72-hole stroke-play competition; 144 players, cut to low 70, and ties after 36 holes
