Forward Shaq Goodwin, the 19th-ranked overall player in the ESPNU 100, announced his commitment to Memphis on Tuesday.

Goodwin, from Decatur, Ga., tweeted his decision, which has been confirmed by multiple sources. He is the first significant domino to commit during the early recruiting period.

Goodwin, the No. 6 power forward in the 2012 class, chose the Tigers over Florida, UCLA, Georgia, Miami, Tennessee and Arizona. He joins fellow ESPNU 100 prospect Damien Wilson (Austell, Ga./Oak Hill Academy) in coach Josh Pastner's 2012 class.

Memphis now is No. 22 in the ESPNU class rankings. Memphis' two-man recruiting class contains a pair of Georgians from the Atlanta Celtics travel team.

Much has been made of the association between UCLA and the Celtics. Last summer, former Celtics coach Korey McCray was hired as an assistant coach by Ben Howland. The Bruins were able to secure a commitment from Jordan Adams (Lawrenceville, Ga./Oak Hill), who played for the Celtics.

But now, Goodwin and Wilson are both headed to Memphis.
