Alex Guerrero was designated for assignment by the Dodgers after completing a rehab assignment at Triple-A Oklahoma City for a knee contusion. He is in the third year of a guaranteed four-year $28 million deal that stipulates he must be traded or released if he is not on the major league roster. A defensive liability, Guerrero played 106 games for the Dodgers last season batting .233 with a .434 slugging percentage.
