Rookie goalie John Gibson starts

LOS ANGELES -- Rookie John Gibson got the starting nod in goal for the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night, a gutsy gamble by coach Bruce Boudreau that paid off with a 2-0 win that tied the series at 2.

Gibson, with only three career regular-season NHL starts under his belt, got the call over veteran Jonas Hiller, who came in to relieve rookie Frederik Andersen midway through the third period of Game 3. Andersen remains out with a lower body injury.
