Divac named Serbian Olympic president

Vlade Divac, the Serbian basketball great, has become the country's Olympic committee president.

Divac, the former Los Angeles Lakers center, won several medals with the former Yugoslavia in international competition and also enjoyed a 16-year NBA career with the Lakers, the then-Charlotte Hornets and the Sacramento Kings.

Divas was confirmed as the new president Tuesday just minutes after his rival, former president Ivan Curkovic, decided to step out of the race.
