Pau Gasol tops Western Conference

Less than a week into the 2010-11 season, honors are already rolling in for the 3-0 Lakers. Monday afternoon, forward Pau Gasol was named Western Conference Player of the Week.

Challenged during the preseason by head coach Phil Jackson to assert himself more forcefully at the start of the season while Kobe Bryant continues his recovery from offseason knee surgery, Gasol responded with a trio of strong games.
