Andrew Bynum hyperextends elbow

DALLAS -- Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum suffered a hyperextended right elbow and contusion on the ulnar nerve (funny bone) on his right arm when contesting a shot by Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki in the third quarter of Dallas' 109-100 win Wednesday.

Bynum started the fourth quarter despite the injury and sat the final 5:46 of the game on the bench, but Lakers head coach Phil Jackson said it was a coaching decision to keep Bynum out of the game in favor of Pau Gasol, not ...
