Report: Injury will rework trade

The Los Angeles Kings will receive some form of added compensation from the trade that sent Ryan Smyth to the Edmonton Oilers after it was discovered that Colin Fraser has a fractured ankle and cyst that will require surgery, according to a report in the L.A. Times.

Fraser reportedly will need four months to recover and will not be able to start the upcoming season.

Oilers general manger Steve Tambellini disputed the report.
