Dodgers optimistic about Chris Reed

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers executive who selected Stanford University left-hander Chris Reed with the team's first pick in this year's amateur draft said Tuesday he believes Reed will agree to terms before Monday's deadline.

"I'm really optimistic,'' said Logan White, the Dodgers assistant general manager for scouting. "When we took Chris in the draft, he was the best guy available, and we still feel that way. He is certainly looking forward to being a Dodger at this point.''
