Robert Woods has ankle surgery

LOS ANGELES -- USC Trojans receiver Robert Woods underwent arthroscopic surgery on his injured right ankle Monday, a school spokesperson confirmed.

Woods, who will be a junior next year, originally hurt the ankle playing pick-up basketball in April. Along with nagging shoulder and elbow injuries, it bothered him for much of the 2011 season, even as he broke school and conference records for receiving yards and challenged for the Biletnikoff Trophy.
