Gerry Hunsicker hired by Dodgers

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers hired longtime baseball executive Gerry Hunsicker as a senior adviser Thursday.

Among other duties, Hunsicker will lend his expertise to the Dodgers' renewed efforts in international scouting and development, an area the team had neglected under previous owner Frank McCourt. He also will work with Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti and team president Stan Kasten on issues related to the major league club.
