UCLA suspends Tevin McDonald

UCLA safety Tevin McDonald, the Bruins' second-leading tackler, will not play in the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl on Thursday against Baylor because of an undisclosed violation of team rules, the school announced Saturday.

McDonald, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound sophomore, did not make the trip to San Diego for the bowl game.

He started all 13 games for the Bruins this season and has 79 tackles, one interception and two fumble recoveries.
