Omar Vizquel is infield instructor

Infielder Omar Vizquel, who retired this past season after a 24-year career, is the Los Angeles Angels' new roving infield instructor, MLB.com reported.

Vizquel was a three-time All-Star and 11-time Gold Glove winner after entering the league with Seattle in 1989. He also played with Cleveland, San Francisco, Texas and the Chicago White Sox before ending his career with Toronto. Vizquel played 2,709 games at shortstop, the most in major league history, and recorded 2,877 hits.
