Dodgers place Mark Ellis on DL

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers placed second baseman Mark Ellis on their crowded 15-day disabled list Monday.

Ellis, who has a strained right quadriceps, is the ninth Dodger to go on the DL this season. He was replaced on the roster by pitcher Chris Capuano, who is scheduled to start Monday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks after missing 16 contests with a strained left calf.

Zack Greinke, Hanley Ramirez, Chad Billingsley and Ted Lilly are already on the DL. ...
