Herman broke in with Brooklyn at 23 and had a .915 OPS (141 OPS+) from 1926-31 before being traded to Cincinnati. From 1929-30, Herman batted .387 with a .446 OBP and .646 slugging percentage, a level of offense matched in the NL only by Hack Wilson.
