You just knew something was different here when Gonzaga forward Casey Calvary interrupted his own press conference after the Zags' latest upset.

"Guys, guys, I got one for you," Calvary said to the assembled media throng. "It says here that Dickau got a block in this game, and I just want to know if anybody saw it."

In the laughter that ensued, point guard Dan Dickau replied, "Yeah, Case, I don't think I've had a block since fifth grade."

There's clearly a rapport between Casey and Dan, much like the pair of wise-cracking anchors of the same name from the cancelled ABC show Sports Night -- except that this Gonzaga franchise gets renewed every year.

Dan: "We combined for 15 rebounds today, did you see that?"

Casey: "You didn't have any."

Dan: "Look at the stat sheet, we had 15 between us."

In the first half, it was all Dickau with 21 points, and WCC player of the year Calvary was more than content to let his friend have the spotlight. "I don't even need to get post touches when he's shooting like that," Calvary said.

By the end, though, Casey took over. He grabbed rebound after rebound, including the final one after Dickau's attempt for the win was rejected. Said Dickau of that final basket, "I just wanted to get the ball in the middle of the lane, because I knew if I missed, the big guy would clean it up for me.

"Thanks, Case."
